MC Angel grew up on a council estate in Camden Town to an Irish mother with her 3 younger siblings. Music was food in her home, creativity encouraged while fighting poverty and challenging circumstances she left school at 15 without completing her exams. Moving to a homeless persons hostel in Kings Cross MC Angel studied Community Theatre at Hoxton Hall earning a Distintion and funding that year from the Princes Trust to run a drama project on the council estate where she grew up, aided with the help of mentor Jennie Matthais formerally Jennie Bellstar.
MC Angel performed her first show as a poet at Express Excess hosted by Paul Llyas in Chalk Falm this lead to shows at Soho Theatre then on the Poetry link Tour with Laura Dockrill, Latitude Festival two years running, winning the Hammer and Tongue London poetry slam finals and coming third in the nationals.
She has toured with Asain Dub Foundation and Future Cinema working on the ‘La Haine’ project. MC Angel has performed at festivals all over the country as a rapper and poet including, Shabala, Drop Beats Not Bombs, Boom Bap, Glastonbury, Wildernes to name a few.
In 2010 MC Angel starred in a hip-hop freestyle Forum Theatre Educational School Tour. Recently she stared in a radio drama aired on BBC Radio 4 with singer songwriter Sjzerdene produced by Boz Temple Morris.
MC Angel is a multi talented host, rapper, MC and poet full of positive vibes and conscious messages ready to rock parites and events.
